Brad Keselowski accuses Chevy & Ford of playing favorites as Toyota's dominance goes unchecked

Toyota has been enormously dominant in 2026, and the recent Chicagoland Cup Series race was a prime example of it. While Toyota went on to dominate, Chevrolet and Ford failed to keep up with them.

RFK Racing's Brad Keselowski revealed the reason behind it and held both the OEMS responsible for it. After the eero 400 race, Keselowski sat down to discuss RKF Racing's performance and how they collaborated with Ford in the last few years.

"I'll give a lot of credit to Toyota," Keselowski said. "For reference, two kinds of A organizations rather than a A B and as I've seen to date, the other OEMs have not done that. Um, and Toyota is making them pay for that with results on the racetrack. They deserve credit for that."

He mentioned how the majority of the OEMs somehow worked perfectly with the better organization and won the titles, but Toyota broke it.

According to Keselowski's pre-race presser on July 3, Ford's cooperation with Team Penske was top-notch while other Ford teams, including Keselowski's RFK, were nowhere in terms of performance.

The RFK driver noted that the same was true with Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports, as they went on to dominate NASCAR.

"It needs to do to position itself to be successful if that were to happen, particularly in the Ford camp, but at this point, we have not seen the level of collaboration at Ford that we see at Toyota," Keselowski further added. "It creates challenges for the program, and I have not seen from the outside, I'm not inside Chevrolet, the same things there."

Keselowski's statement suggested that he wanted to shed light on Toyota's dominance with 23XI Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing, the teams that won the maximum number of races this season (11 out of 18 races).

Whereas Chevrolet and Ford were no match, as only Hendrick Motorsports and Team Penske were able to put up a fight, something they showed in the last couple of years. Since 2019, there has been no Toyota driver winning the championship.

It was Hendrick Motorsports in 2020 and 2021, followed by Team Penske in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and again Hendrick in 2025. It will be interesting to see if Toyota manages to win it this time.

Brad Keselowski devised a way to beat Toyota

As Chevrolet and Ford have been dismal with their performances, Brad Keselowski devised a way to beat Toyota at its game. But it is something that would require Ford or Chevrolet to perform at a very high level.

“I think if you’re going to beat Toyota, you have to have at least two elite organizations collaborating at very, very high levels and sharing the elite resources that are specific to the OEM, and I only see Toyota doing that right now," Keselowski said during the presser.

Chevrolet has been somewhat successful, as Spire Motorsports came out on top on four occasions, while HMS won two races. But for Ford, things look bleak since they won one out of 18 races.

Meanwhile, other teams like Roush Fenway Keselowski look clueless too, as wins or top performances have not come in a long time.

With that said, it will be interesting to see how Ford and Chevrolet manage to match or beat Toyota in the days to come.
