"Dream Come True": Dale Earnhardt's Kin Emotional Before Talladega Debut

The Earnhardt name has been synonymous with success at the Talladega Superspeedway. This weekend, the tale gets sweeter as Dale Earnhardt's grandson, Bobby Earnhardt, will be making his ARCA comeback this weekend with his debut at the 2.66-mile tri-oval.

Bobby Earnhardt will be competing in the Alabama Manufactured Housing 200 at Talladega for Rise Motorsports. The track has been closely linked to his grandfather, Dale Earnhardt's legacy. The late legend won 10 Cup races at the track, and his most notable win at the track came in 2000, when he started the race in 18th and took victory in the final laps.

While talking to ARCA Racing.com about his Talladega debut, Bobby said, "My granddad loved [Talladega], and I’ve got a feeling I’m going to love that track after racing Daytona. This is one of those dream-come-true moments. I told everybody [I was going] to run Daytona before my career ended. Now I’m getting to go race Talladega, too. That makes it even better."

Bobby Earnhardt is keeping his goals measured ahead of this weekend, but he expects to be competitive. He opened the 2026 ARCA season with a Top 10 at Daytona, which has strengthened his confidence for the weekend ahead.

After being away from racing for years, Bobby Earnhardt made a comeback with Rise Racing at the end of 2025. He competed in two events for the team. For the 38-year-old, Talladega means more than just a race, as it helps in taking the Earnhardt legacy at the track forward.

Bobby Earnhardt describes the differences between Daytona and Talladega

Ahead of Saturday's ARCA race, Bobby Earnhardt also spoke about the similarities of racing at Daytona and Talladega. "I was told that Talladega is easier to drive than Daytona," he said. "It’s a bigger track, and you have more room to move around there. Coming off of [turn] four isn’t as tight as it is at Daytona. At the same time, bigger track, faster cars, very, very little area for a mistake."

The engine that Earnhardt and RISE Racing will be using will be the same as the one they used in Kansas and Daytona. He will start 14th in the race, with the starting grid being set by 2026 ARCA Menards Series owner points.

Besides his Daytona Top 10, Bobby Earnhardt wrecked at Phoenix and finished 13th at Kansas. His main focus at the race is to stay up in front or to at least gain another top 10.
