Fans label FOX Sports “embarrassing” for abruptly ending NASCAR broadcast mid-coverage

In NASCAR, recent errors in broadcasting have been talked about just as much as the racing on track. FOX Sports has once again continued its trend of missing out on certain key moments, and a recent post-race blunder from the San Diego Truck Series race has drawn a lot of criticism from fans online.

FOX has been one of NASCAR’s long-time broadcasting partners. However, in recent years, it has faced a lot of backlash, right from missing out on crucial overtakes to crashes, and also the multiple commercial breaks during the race.

However, the most recent incident happened in San Diego.  After the Truck Series race ended, while the presenters discussed the evolving playoff picture, the broadcast was abruptly switched to a commercial. A NASCAR fan page quickly pointed out the blunder, posting a clip of the same on their social media with the caption:

"Earth jumpscare"

However, it was not just NASCAR that experienced abrupt breaks. FIFA World Cup fans are the latest to push back against the same.

FOX Sports faced backlash from soccer fans as well after they tried to squeeze in multiple advertisements that went over the hydration break, eating into a portion of the game.

But coming back to NASCAR, fans did not shy away from speaking their minds about the abrupt switch to commercials amidst the post-race coverage.

NASCAR fans call out FOX's San Diego broadcast debacle

In reaction to the aforementioned X post, NASCAR fans quickly flooded the comments section with their take on the abrupt switch. One fan called the whole ordeal "embarrassing," writing:

"Literally was gonna be like another 5 minutes of talking before they would sign off and go to the World Cup broadcast but no they had it cut away for commercials. Embarrassing."

Another fan wrote about how they’d rather watch the Truck Series race on other broadcasters, such as Flo.

"Fox so clearly gives zero s**** about the truck series I’d rather see it on flo"

Another echoed similar sentiments as they expressed their desire to see other broadcasters like CW, which has been doing a good job with the O'Reilly Series, take the broadcasting duties for the Truck series. They wrote:

"I wish CW would save the truck series. This is unacceptable, especially for FOX standards when they used to be so good."

One user expressed the same sentiment, but said that the Truck series should be broadcast by Amazon Prime, which has rights to broadcast certain Cup races in 2026. They wrote:

"Just give Amazon Prime all of the races."

The abrupt commercial break also left one fan confused.

"I low-key thought I changed the channel on accident," they wrote.
