Fans were left disappointed after NASCAR did not induct Greg Biffle into this year's Hall of Fame Class of 2027 alongside Kevin Harvick and others. They believed that the late driver deserved a place in the most prestigious honor in the sport after his tragic demise in December last year. However, there is one track that is set to do the needful now.
While it is not as honorable as the Hall of Fame, the Tri-City Raceway in West Richland, Washington, will honor the driver in the ARCA Menards race. The track authority will pay respect in the NAPA Auto Parts Greg Biffle Memorial 150.
As per Joseph Srigley, the track will honor the late driver, who was born in Vancouver, Washington, during the pre-race activities leading into the 150-lap race. Besides this, fans will be encouraged to sign the memorial banner, which is to be presented to the Biffle family after the event.
Notably, NASCAR fans were not happy after the governing body inducted Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Larry Phillips, but not Greg Biffle. Given his contribution to the sport, where he served NASCAR for nearly two decades, they expected the honor to be given to the star driver.
On December 18, 2025, Greg Biffle, his family, and a few others were on their way to Charlotte, but an unfortunate and tragic crash took the lives of everyone aboard. It includes Biffle, his wife, Cristina, their son, Ryder, and his daughter Emma from his previous marriage.
Besides them, pilot Dennis Dutton, his son, Jack Dutton, and Biffle's assistant Craig Wadsworth also lost their lives. While the Biffle family has yet to recover from the tragic incident, back-to-back lawsuits have begun to hamper their daily lives.
Greg Biffle's Ex-Wife Files Lawsuit Against His Estate and the Pilot
Nicole Biffle, the ex-wife of Greg Biffle, recently filed a lawsuit against the state of NASCAR driver and the estate of the pilot. The lawsuit alleges multiple incidents of negligence before takeoff and seeks $10 million in compensation.
"Dennis Dutton initiated the starting sequence with an attempted battery start of the left engine, but could not achieve a successful start of that engine. He then proceeded to start the right engine and used that engine to cross-feed electric power to the left engine, which eventually started," the lawsuit stated.
Earlier this year, the wife of Dennis Dutton, the pilot, also filed a lawsuit against the estate of Biffle on airplane negligence, which sent ripples across the NASCAR fraternity.
