Jimmie Johnson Inks Multi-Year Deal With Dollar Tree extending LMC Ties

Jimmie Johnson's NASCAR Cup Series team, Legacy Motor Club, has extended its deal with Dollar Tree, one of the fastest-growing retail companies in the United States. Johnson, the team owner and the brand ambassador of the team, shared his elation as the tie between LMC and Dollar Tree strengthened.

"I’ve always believed success comes from preparation, discipline, and the people around you," Johnson said in a statement. "Dollar Tree is building something special, and I’m proud to be part of it. From the products on shelves to the teams behind the scenes, there’s a strong connection in how we approach performance every day."

Rick McNeely, the Executive Advisor of Dollar Tree, expressed the importance of their partnership with LMC and what Jimmie Johnson brings to the table.

"This partnership is rooted in shared values and a belief in building something meaningful together," said McNeely. "Jimmie’s career is defined by consistency, performance, and teamwork — qualities that align directly with how we operate as a company. We’re excited to bring his voice and credibility to our customers and associates."

Legacy Motor Club and Dollar Tree began their partnership back in January 2024. After the recent extension, their partnership will now last all the way to 2028. Under the current agreement, Dollar Tree will sponsor the No. 42 and the No. 43 Toyota Camry XSEs. Moreover, they will introduce a new line of co-branded products, primarily automotive products and supplies, before branching out into other categories.

Jimmie Johnson, the owner of LMC, formed the team after purchasing the majority stakes of Richard Petty Motorsports for $19 million back in 2021. Days after the purchase, it was renamed to Legacy Motor Club from Petty GMS Motorsports.

This development with Dollar Tree, however, ranks second in LMC's partnership announcements this week.

Jimmie Johnson and LMC join hands with IndyCar team for 2026 Indy 500

IndyCar team Arrow McLaren has teamed up with Jimmie Johnson and Legacy Motor Club for the 110th Indianapolis 500 on May 24. The teams will join hands to sponsor the #31 Chevy, which will be driven by 2014 Indy 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay.

Besides the IndyCar-NASCAR crossover aspect, it will also bring Jimmie Johnson to reunite with his former Chip Ganassi Racing teammate and 2004 IndyCar champion, Tony Kanaan, who serves as the Arrow McLaren team principal.

For Arrow McLaren, such a NASCAR partnership isn't new. The team fielded defending Cup Series champion Kyle Larson in the last two Indy 500s as part of his attempts at conquering The Double. It is in the same entry that the team has placed Ryan Hunter-Reay in.
