Jimmie Johnson's Star Driver Goes on a Meltdown Over Carson Hocevar's Antics

Say what you will about Carson Hocevar, but his fans are quite something else, and John Hunter Nemechek is getting to know that firsthand.

Nemechek, who drives for Jimmie Johnson's Legacy Motor Club, had a tough race in Michigan, getting tagged by Hocevar on the restart on Lap 83. The No. 42 LMC driver finished 14th despite being quick throughout the day and spending time in the Top 10.

He was left frustrated at the result and took to Instagram and posted a picture along with a caption that read:

“p14. Really fast car. 2 weeks in a row getting Hocevared. Appreciate the speed and fight our team brought, but we’ll look to piece it together next week in Pocono.”

In the comments, Johnson wrote a supportive comment for his driver, “Keep swinging brother, everyone is in the know. The 42 is coming!”

Interestingly, Carson Hocevar liked the post. Not sure if he read the caption or meant to double down on Nemechek's misery, but his fans sure did.

But even the fans wouldn’t have expected to get into a keyboard battle with JHN. Johnson’s LMC driver ended up replying to several fans who came to Hocevar’s defence.

JHN’s Verbal Battle with Hocevar Supporters

A comment on JHN’s post read, “I mean if you wanna be upset with someone be upset with the 5 team he easy letting the 9 car drop down and this comes from a Hendrick fan.”

Within a few hours, JHN replied, “I didn’t get turned from the 5…”

This wasn’t an isolated comment. JHN replied to a comment that read, “‘hocevared’ coming from one of the worst drivers in nascar is a bold thing to say”

In response, he wrote: “lmao look at stats”

Another negative comment read: “it was the 5 car but yeah whatever man have fun sitting in 30th s******”.

To this, JHN's reply was “man do you just take pictures on your bike to look cool?”

One fan came to JHN’s support and tagged Carson Hocevar and wrote that he cannot root for Hocevar if he keeps wrecking his favourite driver. Another fan replied to it and wrote “Real question is why is JHN your number one driver? Lol”

JHN replied to the question with a question. He wrote:

“Real question. Why are you even asking that? Lol”.

JHN also replied to the original comment, “can’t believe you’d even root for him.”

Plenty more examples surfaced of the keyboard battle between JHN and Hocevar's fans. While Nemechek finished 14th, Hocevar secured his fourth top-five of the season.
