Brexton Busch continues to prove why many believe he's one of the brightest young talents in grassroots racing. The son of late NASCAR champion Kyle Busch delivered another impressive drive this week, charging from 11th on the starting grid to finish second in a Legends car feature.

"11th to 2nd last night!! Just need to qualify up front to give myself a better opportunity to win," Brexton posted on X after the race.

While the result itself highlighted his talent, it was the reaction from fans that stood out. NASCAR supporters flooded the comments section, not only praising the comeback drive but also pointing out how much the youngster reminds them of his father, whose influence on Brexton's racing style continues to shine through.

One user said they were reminded of Kyle, and wrote, “You remind me so much of your dad!! He’d be so proud. HE IS PROUD.”

Another user added supportive words along with a note for Brexton’s mother, Samantha. They wrote, “Keep up the awesome work, Brexton, dad’s watching you every move you make, and I’m sure he’s very proud of you. Take care of mom. I like where you’re saying just keep up the good work. You’re doing so awesome. We’re all so proud of you.”

Another user chimed in and said, “Good job Brexton! You are the best out there & don’t forget that. It is just a matter of when you win. We are watching you do this, your daddy is proud of you buddy.”

One more user felt Brexton’s mannerisms matched those of his dad, saying, “damn his mannerisms are just like his pop. keep kickin b***, bro.”

The overwhelming response reflects the support Brexton has received from across the NASCAR community in recent weeks. Following the passing of Kyle Busch earlier this year, fans have rallied around the 11-year-old as he continues pursuing the dream he shared with his father.

The No. 8 car will be Brexton’s once he is ready for the Cup Series

After Kyle Busch’s sudden passing, the Richard Childress Racing team had announced it was retiring the No.8 car as a mark of respect. The team made it official in a tweet on X. 

However, given his son’s success in CART racing and other junior levels, along with his performance in the aforementioned Legends feature, the No.8 is being reserved for him once he is ready for the Cup Series.

“Kyle Busch was instrumental in the design of RCR’s stylized No. 8, and it has become synonymous with Kyle and an important symbol for his fans and the NASCAR industry. No one can carry it forward to the level that he did. The No. 8 is reserved and ready for Brexton Busch when he is ready to go NASCAR racing,” RCR's post on X had said.

The No.33 car took over from the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and the owner and charter points for the No.8 car were also transferred to No. 33, with Austin Hill behind the wheel.
