Kurt Busch Seen Mentoring Nephew Brexton Weeks After Kyle Busch's Passing

Kyle Busch would be looking down at Brexton Busch with a heart filled with pride and a tear in his eye as the winningest NASCAR driver’s son took part in the Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway mere weeks after his father passed.

The entire racing community has rallied behind Kyle Busch’s family, Samantha, Brexton, and Lennix and that support of the community was clear to see when Brexton took to the CMS track on Monday night in the Young Lions division.

Brexton was driving his no. 18 car with KBM stickers, and a special member of the Busch family turned up in support. The 2004 Cup series winner Kurt Busch was seen mentoring his nephew, who took to the track for the first time since his father passed due to pneumonia that led to sepsis.

Busch posted a video on his Instagram story where he was heard cheering on Brexton as the 11-year-old took to the track. Brexton’s uncle was heard saying, “Go get them, Brex,” as he cheered on his nephew.

Brexton ended the race in 6th, and there was a post made from his account as well. While there was no caption with the post, fan support was clear to see, and countless comments poured in for Kyle Busch’s son.

Kurt Busch Also Penned Down a Heartfelt Note for Brother Kyle

Losing his younger brother was difficult for Kurt Busch, and he didn’t open up about his loss until he took to Instagram on Monday to share a carousel of pictures with Kyle from their childhood as well as competitive days.

Along with the pictures, Kurt Busch let his emotions flow through a heartfelt caption he wrote. Busch thanked everyone who sent love and wishes to the family during the tumultuous couple of weeks since Kyle’s passing at the age of 41.

He wrote, “Finding a silver lining, I reflect back on the days Kyle and I raced anything we could get our hands on. From big wheels to competing on the biggest stages in motorsports, we were more than just fierce competitors. We pushed each other, challenged each other, and learned from each other.”

The note continued, “Kyle, your passion, determination, and love for your family inspired everyone who knew you. No trophy, championship, or accomplishment could ever measure the impact you had on my life and on so many others.”

Busch, who will be driving his 2020 race winning No 1 Chip Ganassi Chevrolet Camaro at Le Mans at the Historic Sportscar Racing NASCAR Classic, ended his tribute to Kyle Busch on an emotional note.

“I will forever be grateful for the memories we made, the lessons you taught me, and the brotherhood we shared. My heart is broken, but I know your spirit will always ride with me. Rest easy, little brother,”

Kyle Busch will surely be looking at his with a heavy heart as they go through the most difficult phase of their life, getting used to life without Rowdy.
