Samantha Busch is in grief, but she continues to honor those who stood for Kyle Busch. After supporting her son Brexton’s return to racing this week, Samantha Busch personally stepped out to thank the first responders who came to the Busch family’s help when they needed it the most.

She visited the Denver District Officers in Lincoln County, NC, to spend time with them and also offered some snacks as a gesture. Sheriff Bill Beam posted the picture online, thanking Mrs. Busch.

“Thank you Samantha Busch. Mrs. Busch came by to thank the Officers of Denver District for all the assistance and care for her family during their difficult time of losing Nascar great Kyle Busch,” his post read.

Kyle Busch passed away due to severe bacterial pneumonia that progressed into sepsis. He first became unresponsive at a training facility in Concord. After a 911 call is when the first responders took Busch to the hospital, where he stayed for about a day before passing away, aged 41.

Since then, Samantha Busch and family have been trying to heal and accept the cruel truth that Kyle Busch is no longer around. After his death, Samantha first stepped out in public, emotionally devastated, in the remembrance ceremony held by Steve O’Donnell for Kyle before the Coca-Cola 600.

And this week, she made a heartfelt post remembering her late husband while supporting her son's return to racing.

Samantha reflects on life after Kyle

Kyle and Samantha's son, Brexton Busch, 11, made a comeback to racing at the Cook Out Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway this week. Finishing sixth and second in the races, he expressed that he “felt really good to get racing again.”

And though he didn’t have his father Kyle beside him, his mother Samantha made sure she was.

Posting a picture of them together, Samantha wrote a long caption introspecting on life after Kyle’s passing and what it means to see Brexton follow Kyle’s footsteps.

“Watching Brexton back at the track is both heartbreaking and beautiful all at once because there are moments when I catch a glimpse of Kyle in him, the same determination, the same passion, the same spark, and for a second it feels like a piece of him is still right here with us.

“These moments are incredibly hard, but they also remind me that Kyle’s story isn’t over. It lives on through the dreams he inspired and the two children he loved more than anything."

She made a promise to Kyle in the hospital that she’d do anything to help their children, Brexton and Lennix, pursue their dreams.

“Racing is what lights Brexton up and as long as it’s the dream in his heart, I’ll be right there beside him, cheering him on every step of the way.”

Life may get better with time, but it certainly won’t be the same for the Busches after this. But perhaps the most heartfelt reflection was summed up by Samantha herself, as she said,

“Every time we get to the track, we’re reminded that a piece of our team is missing. But it’s also where we feel closest to him, surrounded by the memories, the people, and the dreams he helped build. So, we race on ❤️”
