Noah Gragson recently revealed the current state of affairs between him and Ross Chastain following their infamous brawl at Kansas Speedway on May 7, 2023.

Despite the punch by Chastain, there was no lasting feud. Both drivers seemed to have worked it out eventually, as Gragson recalled how quickly things returned to normal between them.

“I mean, we went to the dirt track and tested a micro sprint car the next day, and I was like, ‘Hey, nice shot, but just to let you know, if that stand didn’t grab my arm, I was coming.’”

Recalling what went down after the punch, Gragson recalled Chastain saying, “Yeah, no hard feelings, all good.”

But Gragson jokingly added how he would have made a slight tweak had it had to happen again.

“If I were to do it over again, I'd get a haircut first,” the Front Row Motorsports driver said.

He then detailed how the confrontation started. “Then I went up to him, grabbed him, and in NASCAR, they'll fine you if you fight. So I had to eat one, and then I was going to go to town on him,” he explained.

Gragson further noted, “Because I grabbed him, he hit me. So basically, you just have to have somebody. It's just got to be roles reversed, you know?”

Both Chastain and Gragson escaped the feud with no fines, unlike the $75,000 fine precedent set by NASCAR, which was awarded to Ricky Stenhouse Jr. after he punched Kyle Busch at the 2024 NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway.

This infamous Chastain-Gragson brawl, though still a topic of conversation, follows a long history of incidents involving NASCAR drivers. Let’s take a look at some other recent ones.

Another legendary incident occurred in 2011, when Richard Childress confronted Kyle Busch after a Truck Series race at Kansas. This was one of those rare occasions where a team owner became involved in a physical altercation.

In the same season, fans would also remember another famous clash at Darlington that placed both involved drivers on probation, none other than Kevin Harvick and Busch.

Combined with this new revelation from Gragson, it truly showcases how such incidents have become part of NASCAR fan culture, with discussion and gossip around them still dominating fan circles to this day.
