The recent rules laid down by Hendrick Motorsports for their fan event have sparked a mixed reaction among the fans. Amidst all of this, Noah Gragson has taken a subtle jab at the HMS team.
The Front Row Motorsports driver put out a post via his social media account, assuring fans that they did not need anything extra to meet him during FRM's event.
"Reminder that you don't need that wristband b******* at our merch hauler. I'll sign for all of you. No purchase necessary," Gragson posted on X.
On Tuesday, former Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson announced a meet and greet at the upcoming San Diego race this weekend. But there was a catch.
Fans needed to buy the 2026 Jimmie Johnson Carvana San Diego die-cast, which would gain them access to an exclusive wristband. Furthermore, no other items will be signed by the driver besides the die-cast.
These rules have been deemed bizarre by several of the fans. Many have also called out the veteran driver over making the event feel like a cash grab.
This is not the first time fans have noticed this. A similar rule was implemented during Hendrick Motorsports' fan fest back in May, where the fans were required to have wristbands for autographs.
So, Gragson's simple gesture of being accessible to the fans has earned him a lot of praise.
NASCAR Fans Shower Their Praises on Noah Gragson for Making the Fan Event Accessible
Several fans praised Gragson in the comment section of his post, with many recalling their interactions with the No. 4 driver.
One fan wrote, "Thank you Noah for always being real with us fans. Back at the Anniston Walmart meet and Greet you gave my friends daughter a jar of grillos pickles and she still talks about it. You are truly a man of the people. But I need an updated photo with you, hope to get one in October at Dega.”
Another X user thanked the driver while recalling his experience trying to meet the HMS driver Chase Elliott.
"I appreciate it! Took a friend of mine to his first race at Dover and he was hoping to meet Chase Elliott but you needed that dumb wristband and a $200 diecast purchase," they wrote.
Another fan agreed, stating, "I can testify, didn’t need one last year when I met him lol.”
Another NASCAR fan echoed a similar sentiment, recalling getting his arm signed.
He shared a picture of the same writing, "He ain't lying. He'll sign anything."
After finding out about the situation, a fan compared the two racers, clearly favoring Gragson over Johnson.
They wrote, "I just now found out why you said this. Real recognizes real. S**** Jimmie Fraudson."
