“This is the future”: Michael Jordan’s 23XI branded the next powerhouse in NASCAR by star driver

Michael Jordan's 23XI Racing has had the best start to a NASCAR season any team could wish for. Tyler Reddick, the team's star driver, started with back-to-back sensational record performances. Now, their part-time and soon-to-be full-time driver Corey Heim took the baton at San Diego, and he's clear about why he's on the team.

"This is the future," Heim said about 23XI Racing on the Rubbin' is Racing podcast. "I've always felt like that I've worked with other Cup teams on like a simulator or a backup level, and I just have not gotten the same vibe as far as this is where I want to make my career, happen. And this is where I want to invest my future."

Following this, Heim stated that he turned down full-time opportunities at other teams to drive under a part-time obligation for Michael Jordan and his team. And thanks to his talent, he will start as a full-time driver next season, alongside Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace.

"I kind of bet on myself. I mean, this facility Airspeed, is incredible. And I feel like the owners, Denny and MJ, like they are investing heavily in this race team and they want to win championships, and funny enough, so do I. So this is definitely the place I want to be," Heim further added on the podcast.

Notably, Heim claimed the victory at the Anduril 250, which took place at the San Diego Street Course last Sunday. It was not only the first race at Naval Base Coronado, but also Heim's maiden win, after which the young driver earned ample respect and appreciation.

Corey Heim beat his teammates, Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace, on his way to victory. Reddick suffered from a flat tire while battling with Heim, while Wallace had to endure a two-lap penalty.

When Michael Jordan warned NASCAR field about 23XI

After Tyler Reddick won three back-to-back races in the first three outings in 2026, Michael Jordan had a warning for the rest of the field. And it was about how his team, 23XI Racing, planned to operate this season and in the coming days.

"It's time for change," Jordan said. "And the guys feel the same thing. Tyler came in with the most pressure, I guess. Everybody expected him, or he had a chance to win three in a row. That's the hardest one to win, you know. And you know, he kept to his strategy, and the guys put together a great car," he added, reported via FOX Sports.

And MJ was not wrong. Reddick went on to win two more races in the season, while Corey Heim claimed another to make it six wins this season. Moreover, Reddick leads the regular season championship after 17 races, and still has an eight-point lead over his 23XI boss Denny Hamlin, who's closing in.
