"We Shouldn't Be Racing": Star Driver Fumes as FOX Cuts Short NASCAR Race

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck race was nothing short of chaos. The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway finally wrapped up, but Kaden Honeycutt is not very satisfied with the event.

The race kicked off on Sunday at 10 am ET after ot was postponed three times since Friday due to the heavy rains at the track. The race was scheduled to take place for 134 laps on the 1.5-mile track. But it ended just 110 laps in under caution.

The race was cut short by FOX due to the clashing times with the Indy 500. However, this upset the race runner-up, Kaden Honeycutt. While speaking to the media post-race, he spoke about how he was disappointed and should have run the race when there was a window for a full distance.

“We race against the time clock," Honeycutt said. "I mean, what the h*** are we supposed to do? Same thing in Atlanta, same thing here this weekend, I feel like if we have to run against the time clock, we shouldn't be racing."

He further added how the fans and sponsors pour in a huge amount of money just to watch 30-40 laps of race action taking place under a green flag.

Earlier in the year, during the race at EchnoPark Speedway, the race was delayed due to rain and began at 3 pm ET. NASCAR later decided that the last two laps of the race would take place at 4:20 pm. This was done to accommodate the O’Reilly series.

Throughout the race, the Tricon Garage racing driver seemed strong and challenged for the win. Despite not winning the race, the No. 11 Tricon Garage driver managed to keep his championship lead by 11 points over the race winner, Layne Riggs.

However, this is not the only big story to come out of the truck race at Charlotte.

Corey Day crashes Kyle Busch’s truck entry  at Charlotte

After the tragic passing of the two-time NASCAR champion, Kyle Busch, the weight to carry his truck series legacy fell on the shoulders of Corey Day.

The 20-year-old was piloting the No. 7 Spire Motorsports truck. He started the race for pole position after Busch won his last truck race at Dover last week.

On Lap 47, Day and Gio Ruggiero made contact, which sent the No 7 car spinning. The car briefly went airborne before it hit the inside wall and came to a halt.

During his post-race interview, Day spoke about how he tried to keep up with Ruggiero, but it backfired. "My spotter didn't do anything wrong...I just thought I was clear, and I wasn't.”
