What Happened to Kyle Busch? Why Is Rowdy Hospitalized?

Kyle Busch’s family tweeted on Thursday that the Richard Childress Racing driver has been hospitalized. He will not take part in the Coca Cola 600 that’s set to take place this weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. But what exactly has happened to Rowdy?

According to his family, the hospitalization took place after he experienced ‘severe illness.’ He is currently undergoing treatment for the same. So far, apart from this, no further reason has been stated by his family or his team.

Richard Childress Racing has also commented on providing him with full support as they tweeted, “Kyle Busch’s health is our upmost priority and he and his family have the full resources of RCR behind them. Kyle is an integral part of our organization and we wish him a safe and speedy recovery. His No. 8 Chevrolet will be ready and waiting for him.”

RCR’s Austin Hill will step up for him in the No. 8 Chevy at Charlotte.

Both RCR and Busch’s family have respected privacy at this hour. “Please keep Kyle and the Busch family in your prayers, and help us respect the family’s privacy at this time,” tweeted the team.

Busch felt sick at Watkins Glen too

Notably, Kyle Busch faced some health issues at the Watkins Glen race. While driving, he was heard saying on his radio, “Can somebody try to find Bill Heisel? He’s the kindred doctor guy. Tell him I need him after the race, please.”

On asking whether he needed the medical assistance near his car or the bus, Busch asked for the bus and said that he was “going to need a shot.”

Reports say that he was battling with “sinus cold” that week. As of now, we do not know if the current hospitalization is linked with this sickness at Watkins Glen.

Busch has been performing well in the last few races where he’s shown pace. It started from the Talladega race where his crew chief was replaced with Andy Street.

He finished 10th at Talladega, 20th at Texas (where he was running top-10 speed if not for the last lap clash with John Hunter Nemechek), and finished 8th at The Glen.

We wish him a quick recovery so he can be back in his No. 8 to continue his strong run. Further updates will follow.
