Ever since bursting onto the NASCAR scene, Trackhouse Racing has been viewed as one of the fastest-rising teams in the series. However, the team has found itself in the spotlight after inconsistent results this season. Team owner Justin Marks has given his opinion on the same. 

During his recent appearance on NASCAR reporter Jeff Gluck's podcast, "The Gluckcast," Marks spoke about the current media narrative that has been surrounding the team this season.

"I think there's an interesting narrative around us because we came out so strong in 2022. Even last year, it's like, 'What's wrong with TrackHouse?' And we won like seven races last year. I think that the narrative around TrackHouse is like, well, the way that they came out of the gates, I mean, this is sort of the way it should be every year. And this sport is difficult, and it's cyclical."

Marks was asked about the team's current position and where the organization needed to improve. To which he replied, 

"I mean, look, it's we're in a very sort of a transitional and self-reflective time in the business right now where we're really spending a lot of time looking at our processes and how we approach. I think where we're at right now is trying to determine, you know, where the lack of speed is in our processes during the week. Making sure that everybody in the company is focused on the same thing, which is car speed."

The team owner further spoke about how, despite starting the Next Gen era on an equal footing, the rival teams have found ways to consistently extract speed from the car.

While Trackhouse continues to show flashes of speed throughout the season, they lack the consistency needed to regularly challenge in the front. This inconsistency has also been acknowledged by one of the Trackhouse drivers.

At Sonoma Raceway, Shane van Gisbergen once again showed his strength on the road courses by adding yet another victory last weekend. Despite this, the Kiwi driver, who had won five of six road course races in 2025, believes that Trackhouse is yet to find the consistency needed every weekend.

While speaking to Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports ahead of the upcoming Chicagoland race, SVG opened up about Trackhouse’s recent struggle. 

"Some weeks I find we can run 10th to 15th pretty easily, and other weeks it's a battle to run 30th," he said. "As a team, we definitely need to be better and prepare as well as we can."

While the No. 98 driver has managed to produce somewhat decent performances at the road course, his teammate, Connor Zilisch, who has shown flashes of speed, has been struggling in his rookie season, and the woes are only compounded by speed inconsistencies of the car week in and week out.
