Justin Allgaier has had a very strong NASCAR  O’Reilly Auto Parts Series career. Despite this, he has repeatedly spoken about quitting the sport. 

As found in the pre-race interview with Sirius XM NASCAR Radio posted on X on May 30, ahead of the Nashville race, the JR Motorsports driver spoke about his future with the team and the sport. 

“After I won my third race of the year, I walked in on Monday morning, and LW [Miller] and Joe [Mattes] pulled me into Joe’s office, and they're like, ' Why are you quitting? Why are you doing this? Why are you retiring?' So we'll see. I can't promise you anything,” he said.

By winning at Martinsville in March 2026, Allgaier pushed his career total to 31 victories. So, while his on-track accomplishments continue to grow, he further spoke about how his wife is not in favour of his quitting racing.

The 39-year-old also revealed how he got a call from his church pastor not to quit racing. 

This is not the first time the No 7 driver has spoken about his plans to retire from the sport. Allgaier previously spoke about the same back in 2024 when he won his first championship.

"Three years ago, that was it," he said back in March during the post-race interview after securing the third win at Martinsville Speedway. "I told I wanted to retire three years ago. So I did. I mean, at the moment, I guess now, looking back on it, I'm glad I didn't."

However, he changed his mind and continued racing. Having decided against retirement, Allgaier advanced to the Championship 4 race at Phoenix. However, ultimately, Richard Childress Racing star Jesse Love won the championship.

The JR Motorsports driver currently leads the O’Reilly series championship with 696 points, with a 145-point lead over Love in second. In the last 15 races, he accumulated 3 race wins, 12 top 10s, and 10 top 5s. 

Allgaier signed a multiyear contract that runs through the end of this season with JR Motorsports.

While he is yet to make a decision on his retirement, as of now, the No 7 driver remains focused on the upcoming races. 

Justin Allgaier Dominates Stage 2 at Nashville Speedway

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race is currently underway in Nashville. Allgaier and Love put up a great show for the fans. 

The former O’Reilly Champions Love and Allgaier kept swapping places throughout stage 2 of the race. Eventually, it was the JR Motorsports driver who took the victory. 

During stage one of the race, the No 7 driver kept himself in the top 3 as Love won the first stage. At the beginning of the third stage of the race, the driver had fallen back to third due to a pit crew error. 

However, Allgaier has managed to keep himself in the top three spot despite the minor setback. 

With his latest Nashville victory, Allgaier secured his third career win at the venue and his second straight there, while increasing his season total to four wins.
