The recently concluded Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway saw a massive wreck on Lap 47 in Stage 2 that triggered a chain reaction, taking multiple drivers out. While discussing this on the Dale Jr Download podcast, hosts Junior and TJ Majors were not on the same side.
The argument revolved around Joey Logano's spin that clipped Bubba Wallace, who further came in front of Brad Keselowski (who TJ Majors spots) and got hit by the No. 6, ending Keselowski's race.
Majors stood on one stance that Wallace should've slowed down to avoid getting clipped by Logano. Junior wasn't sure he could do that. Majors further felt if Wallace didn't get clipped by Logano, he would've run into the No. 20 of Christopher Bell.
After a lot of back and forth, Dale Jr said, "You're an idiot," and then later took his argument and turned it against him.
"Why didn't you slow down? Didn't you slow down more? The 23 slides across your nose, you run right into it," Junior asked Majors, as to why Keselowski didn't do the same thing that Majors expected Wallace to do.
Defending his side, Majors said,
"Well. I can't control the throttle, slow down a little bit more than that, there's a wreck happening. Well, you can't slow down the guys that want to stay."
According to the footage, the entire wreck was triggered by Shane van Gisbergen and Josh Berry as they tried to run three wide with Austin Hill.
In doing so, the Kiwi and Berry made contact, forcing the No. 21 of Hill to go into the wall. The wreck collected Joey Logano, Bubba Wallace, Brad Keselowski, Christopher Bell, Noah Gragson, and Connor Zilisch among many others.
TJ Major's driver Brad let his feelings known on Pocono wreck
Following the conclusion of the Pocono Raceway race, Brad Keselowski shared his thoughts as he fell prey to the wreck in Stage 2. Having started his race from 37th place after a poor qualifying result, his race did not turn out any better.
“I thought we had decent pace and just trying to bide our time," Keselowski said. "The race is going to crack open (with) different strategies. And just, some guys run really stupid races, and where they’re like three-wide on Lap 5 in a race where the strategy is going to shuffle the field three more times. You’re just trying not to get caught up in their junk. I missed the first wave of their junk but not the second.”
Other drivers, such as Joey Logano, who suffered from the wreck, finished the race in 34th place, while Shane van Gisbergen came home in 31st place. Denny Hamlin won the race, ahead of Tyler Reddick and William Byron.
